Every year, increasing numbers of students head north for a few days to visit some of the best universities in the country to decide which is their university of choice. Leeds, York, Manchester – all have top class reputations and many students do decide that student life in the north of the country is what they aspire to.
They find that these cities are incredibly friendly places to live in, from security guards Leeds, through to the shop assistants and garage attendants. They also discover pretty quickly that Leeds and the other northern cities are great places to live in with a vibrant nightlife and plenty to do.
There has to be several aspects to making your final decision on which university will be your first choice, but the actual teaching reputation and facilities and the town or city itself have to be two of the major ones.
There is no point in going to one of the best academic universities if you hate the town and spend the three or four years tucked in your room, so a combination of a good teaching standard and a great place to live has to be the answer.
Luckily, universities such as Leeds ticks all the boxes as many students who visit the city for a few days end up selecting Leeds as their uni of choice.
